According to the Bible…….that is not true.
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others”. ___Philippians 2:3-4
This year, instead of making one big, impossible New Year’s resolution, I decided to make a new one each month; Find a Scripture and follow it for the entire month, hoping and praying it will become a habit.
I’ll admit this is a hard one. But when I get discouraged I remember nothing is impossible with our Lord…..especially when it is His will………stated, written down in the Bible and sealed with all omnipotent authority. Our Lord promises to answer any prayer asked “according to His will” 1 John 5:14. What a glorious promise.
Here I go, Lord, into a brand new month and doing my best to trust and obey. I know with absolute certainty that I can count on You and the truth of your Word.
‘Til He Shouts!

This is one of my favorite scriptures! The very best part of the verse is “..also to the interests of others.” It challenges us to live like Jesus, always aware of the needs of those around us. What a challenge! Thanks, Adele!
Thanks, Becky. It is a big challenge, but with the Lord’s help, it is possible.
That’s a great verse to choose. Just imagine the influence we could be for Christ if we truly lived our lives that way.
Yes, it is a great verse, but a difficult and challenging one. To start with, our own attitude would be drastically different if we followed that teaching.
