” I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I’m onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s tableland,
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
___Johnson Oatman, Jr. 1898
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13
Your higher ground painting just reminds me of churches in the country and dinner one the ground and revivals with lots of wonderful hymn singing. there are probably lots of chirping birds there also.
Kathy, That’s a nice image you described. Wouldn’t it wonderful to attend one of those….in the Texas hill country during the Spring. I could bring my corn casserole and a few lawn chairs.
Beautiful!
